Mkwaja and Masai Village
An evening trip to the nearby village of Mkwaja, a simple village of humble homes made of soil and pillars. Life here is very simple and you get the impression of going back in time. The nomad Masai tribe live an even more sparse life with just a few huts and their animals.

Open air markets
The surrounding villages have a weekly market; on thursdays there is Masai market about 20 minutes away. Mostly they sell livestock but you can find some trinkets usually used or worn by the Masai.
There are two other markets a little bit further away, both very colorful and you can find all sorts of things.
These trips usually take 2 or 3 hours in the morning.

Pangani
Pangani is a unique and fascinating town; to get there you cross the river in your car on the ferry. There are some old buildings and a daily market. This is a half day trip.

Tanga
Tanga is the main town of the region. The daily markets are big and merchandise abundant, there are also plenty of shops. Here you can visit the nearby Amboni caves . This trip takes all day and lunch is in a typical local restaurant. Pangani is on the way so it will be visited as well.
